Perseverance, determination, and communal cooperation keep the Kimanguiste Symphony Orchestra, the only orchestra in the Democratic Republic of Congo, going. This self-made classical orchestra in Kinshasa comprises 200 musicians who have retained their passion for classical music for the last 15 years in spite of the ongoing wars and turmoil in their country. This inspiring film provides intimate portraits of some of these musicians and the incredible challenges they face, while painting an indelible picture of the diverse, fast-paced, and vibrant city in which they live and work. Winner of many documentary awards, the film has been praised worldwide for its raw enthusiasm and positive effect on audiences.
